More woodfirers on their way

We have just heard that the woodfirers from Darnley Island are coming – with Lynette Griffiths.  Lynette Griffiths is an influential figure in North Queensland art, and in particular Torres Strait ceramic art. She supervised the construction of a wood fire kiln on Darnley Island, making it Australia’s northern most kiln. She has curated several exhibitions of sculpture fired in these kilns by Darnley Island potters. Lynette is also known for her involvement in the acclaimed ghost net art projects.

Just take a look at the work by Lavinia Ketchell and Jimmy K Thaiday.
