Take a didgeridoo playing renaissance man, throw in to the mix the new kid on the block, add some balmy bali night conversations with the Hoff (Neil Hoffman) on kiln building add a slug of hard work and a sprinkling of dreams and you have the makings a a perfect pre-conference workshop.
That’s what it will be when Shirobey Kobayashi, multi-talented Mashiko potter arrives on his first Australian visit to lead pre-conference participants through a firing of “Syrinx” the newly built anagama kiln at Tania Edwards Arcadia studio.
Test firing of the new kiln took place on 2nd May with great results. Build a Kiln, build a community. The Smoke on the water countdown is on.
